Poster printing for events and shop windows
Posters are paper prints for indoor use or for notice boards: event announcements, offers in the shop window, posters for the office or for a campaign. We print them in the standard A3–A0 formats or at the size you choose.

Finishes
- Trimmed to size — The poster is cut exactly on the final edge, with no white border — this needs bleed in the file.
- White border — The poster keeps a white margin all round, so no bleed is needed.
- Lamination — A protective film for posters that stay on display for a long time or are touched often.
- Mounted on a rigid board — For posters that stand on an easel or hang on a wall without a frame — ask us which options we have.
If you need something else, ask us and we confirm in the quote what can be done.

What file to send
- The chosen format (A3 = 297 × 420 mm, A2 = 420 × 594 mm, A1 = 594 × 841 mm, A0 = 841 × 1189 mm) or the exact size.
- Resolution of around 300 dpi at actual size for posters seen from close up.
- 2–3 mm bleed if the background runs to the edge of the sheet.
- A PDF with fonts converted to outlines, in CMYK colours.
Common mistakes to avoid
- The main information (what, when, where) too small. Someone walking past the poster should be able to read it from a few steps away.
- The wrong date, time or address. Check them twice — they are the most expensive mistakes, because the poster has to be reprinted.
- Light text on a light photo (or dark on dark). Without contrast the text gets lost, especially from a distance.
- Images taken from the internet or from a chat, too small for A2 or A1.
- A background that runs to the edge, but no bleed.

Frequently asked questions
Which paper should I choose for a poster?
Gloss paper makes colours vivid, matt paper does not reflect light and is easier to read under strong lamps. Posters pasted outdoors are usually printed on blueback paper, which has a blue back and hides what is underneath.
Can I print a single poster?
Yes, you can also order a single copy. Tell us the quantity in your quote request.
Which format should I choose for a shop window?
It depends on how far away the poster is seen from. A3 works for a door or a small window, A2 and A1 are easy to see from the street, and A0 suits large windows or boards.
Can I put the poster up outdoors?
Paper posters can be pasted on notice boards, preferably on blueback paper, but they are not made to stay in rain and sun for long. For long-term outdoor use, a banner or a vinyl sticker lasts better.
Can I print a poster from my own photo?
Yes. Send the photo in the best quality you have and we tell you whether it is suitable for the size you chose.
Can I order several different posters at once?
Yes. Send the files and tell us how many copies you want of each.
